As a painter I set up systems within which the outcomes of experimentation lead me through my actions.
The interaction of pattern and chance is what most excites me and from which I find my flow of creativity. I
am interested in color as an activator of response and form as a way of alluding to the familiar. My imagery
is an expression of my psychological landscape, a remaking of my memories, a rearranging of reality. I am intrested in rendering images that call upon the fantastical and the metaphysical. For me space is a series of veils one laying before the next and has a relationship to our perception of time as a sequence of moments, the present being the surface and the past or future extending into their relative directions. I am fascinated with the material of paint itself, its fluidity, its viscosity, its chemistry. The act of painting is for me a kind of ritual and I believe that by following an intuitive process I am made able to transform the unseen reality of the inner being into a physical object that is both a record of that process and a window in to what we otherwise can not see.
